Lucky us got out this morning, it was raining but fabulous. Boys were mostly good. Pete did a few canter strides on the road every time I asked for trot on the way home apart from that- really well behaved. One of our lanes had turned into a small river, boys were fetlock deep, couldn't trot. I guess that is what riding in the sea is like! Fantastic to get out after two weeks. No where near as long as you guys up north but when you do finally get out you will feel like I do today ;D ;D ;D

Well done Sol....I'm too much of fair weather rider these days!
I could lie and say the ice thats still lurking put me off but it was mainly the rain as I didn't get as far as investigating whether lane was safe or not to use...will inspect later with reagrds to going out tomorrow hopefully.
Did find 4 barrows worth of poo that I missed when it hid under the snow though....

It's great, isn't it?
We hacked down to the teenager's lesson yesterday. The fastest way to get there is using a dry riverbed .... but it's not dry at the moment! It started off just as a fast stream on one side of the bed, which we had to jump (P does the most ridiculous huge leaps from standstill), then it took over the whole bed and we had about 1km of river to wade along. At one point it came up to the boys' chests. Bit of an adventure.

Hurrah - I managed to get out too, on Saturday and Sunday, for shortish hacks.
Deb's was really good and not too lively, the quiet roads here are nearly free of ice and snow so were ok to go on, but had to double back on myself both times as some small lanes were still too dangerous to ride on. Plenty of trotting and it was just so lovely to be out again, I may yet get my sanity back.

I'm dead jealous of you all. I'm hoping to maybe get out at the weekend - just hoping the weather keeps up as its lovely and mild here at the moment.
