So I am worried about her teets... If I remember that is what they are called in ther Vet books?
I am going to call them Breasts because, it just seems to me, more respectfull.... If that is more respectful?
Anyway's, I am kinda worried they are hurting her because lately I have noticed they are Sometimes really warm and alway's swollen. Pregnancy is not the answer because, there is no way for a stallion to get to her.
Do you think inflamation from the cold? I don't touch them often...In the winter that is.. Because my hands or cold and I could Imagine how that would feel.... *burrrr*
Just looking for answers, I don't trust the Vet here, and he is a totall ass..
I know I have not been around but I do need some help and this is the only place I am welcomed... Idk why though...
Please... I love her very much I hate to see her in discomfort.
Thanks Much love<PonY>

Pony- there could be a number of reasons, some mares teats get a bit swollen when they are in season, so it could be that. Also some mares -but this is rare are susceptible to them getting quite dirty and sticky so they need cleaning regularly. If this is the case for her they could have got a bit infected.
If she was mine I would wash them gently with a very mild soapy antiseptic prep such as hibiscrub- she may not like this but if you are gentle and patient she should be ok, then if they appear worse or she is in any pain you will have to get someone you trust in to have a look.

Thanks. I do clean her often, sometimes she even asks me too...... Seems wierd but she does.
How about the -30*C factor? Do you think that that may be it?

I dont think the cold is likely to swell up any part of a horse. Have you done any googling on it?

It would be really unusual for the cold to be having an effect, its probably more hormonal, especially if you already clean them for her. Is she displaying other signs of being in season?

Okay, The swelling has gone down and I am now just hoping that it does not come back... I am very very gentle with her. Promise. I primarly just make sure her whole body is clean. She isn't a dirty mare at all, but still.. You mean laying? or.... Becuase I am not very good with the words... Ha... I just listen to what she has to say... (Not words, actions/emotional feelings). I'd like to thank you all for all the help. Plus, any in the future if I do not thank you. But I am sure I will PonY 'To inhabit her existance is outright felicity'

lack of movement can causeexcess blood to 'pool' in teats or sheath...if you have had lots snow and ponies kept more confined or in, this can happen. Alternatively she may have a little infection from the smallest of cuts...if it persists maybe think about the vet? i
