Actually manged to get out today! Still a bit icy in places but the bulk of the ice has gone....for now since the forcast is not looking good. Not much else to say really as only fit for a walk round common but both boys were models of good behaviour which, since it's almost 3 weeks since we could last ride, was very pleasing.

We went out too - we were out for nearly 3 hours, hacked down a 60mph road for most if it, had buses and all sorts pass us and the ponies were brill! I think my sister got a bit nervous leading us though (Faith decided to be suuuuuuuuuuuuuuper slow yesterday and we held all the traffic up if we were in front!) but she managed to hold her nerve, even when Faith decided to spin out infront of a bus (eek!), and we had a nice little trot up the lane/bridleway which I think we all enjoyed!
It was nice to have had the chance to get a last ride in...even though it looks like it could be the last for a little while...hmm...

haffy - glad you managed to get out as I know you had bad weather. (course I am glad for you as well Spotti). Lets hope this cold snap will be over soon and we will have a nice early warm spring (and hot summer and great autumn). At least the days are getting longer

that they are duckles nearly 5 today before it was pitch black.
The riding was short lived, it never thawed out again today after a thick frost last night turned everything icy again and now it appears to dumping snow down like it's the end of the world or something

Me n Fire had good last ride of '09 too. Had a lovely hack which he was very good on. We even had a very long trot on a grass stretch that was full of mole hill and tufts of grass. (Part of me new years res. To be able to trot and canter him on grass confidently).
