Fire has been soooooooo good lately. I can't quite believe my luck. N I've had 4 really great rides in 5 days.
Fri. I managed to get off work early, go to Fire at 3.40 was loosing light fast, but got him brushed off and tacked up. It was lovely and sunny and the cold wind was nipping at my face but I didn't feel cold. There were pheasent flying up left right and centre and he was so chilled about it all. It was really dusky when we got back and there was this large brown bird soaring around up ahead and it was a tawny owl! I'd never seen one before and it landed on the post and looked at us for ages.
Sat. Did a lil schooling and a coupla lil jumps then went for a hack, I took him out on the road (only for 100m) and leading. Then hoped back on, and rode down this really pretty track with ancient oaks. Although to get back we have to ride through a pheasent raising bit but he was soo good.
Sun. Annother great hack, on the way back there was a shooter over the road. I was thinking maybe we should go the other way but Fire was like "ah its only a shooter nothing to worry about" just carried on pottering along. good as gold ;D
Today. I moved them to diff. field on Sun so gave him y.day to chill. Today the weather was lovely so I decided to take him out before work, only had bout 30 mins but we went for a lovely stroll. I was expecting him to be really lively and naughty but he wasn't, not even a lil bit. I rode him through this wood which is pretty clear but had no track so we were just bobbing and weaving through the trees and he was great didn't spook at anything. Really relaxing, I love this time of year (when its not windy and rainy). You can't beat a chilly, sunny morning. ;D Fire *touchwood* behaves very well this time of year. (when the plants have finnished dying) I wish he was this good all the time ;D
