Are a bit embarrassing for me .......... Well, the good news is that I came third in my category but before anyone breaks out the champagne, there were only four of us old ladies There were 26 people (out of 151) who abandoned altogether. Overall, I came 95th because P and I did such awful lunchtime tests. The teenager came 48th overall, as the unflappable R just took the tests in his stride. On the first day we lost points over the 40km for being 20minutes too slow (but given the condition of the ground after that torrential rain, I know we took it at the right speed) and on the second day we lost points for being 15minutes too fast!! (I thought we were going at a lick....) Anywaym, the mayor phoned me today to pass on the rather nice shield that the mairie normally keeps and the official photo and said I looked 'charming' in my helmet (ie a prat!) modified as I realised I'd got the distance wrong - it was 40km each day not a nancy 20!!!!!!

I'd still be breaking out the champagne Rac - you've both done exceptionally well even doing it - I've always been very impressed with your adventures.

Agree with DB!! I think Trec is probably much more difficult than it looks and endurance too for that matter! Who cares what place you got - i think you did well getting out there ;D

Who cares what place you got - i think you did well getting out there ;D I always think TREC is definitely more difficult that it looks.... The Chevauchée is a cross between TREC and endurance I suppose, but as we found out, you can go TOO fast. It really depends on what kind of horse sets the bogey time. We knew we were in with a chance this year because it was a small, quite speedy horse, but it's all the luck of the draw. ;D And anyway, the whole point is to have fun. We certainly did have that, a a jolly fine apero too. ......

Hey, only just seen this, I think the four of you have done brilliantly... well done.
I do believe that it is actually the law, for us to look like a prat (especially charmingly so) whilst wearing a riding hat... that is my excuse and I am sticking to it.
