two of my personal faves in one - connemars and dapple grey...she is beautiful!
How do you find the breed? Willow has a touch of connie in him but not much - I have heard they are not really for novices (bit like the Welsh D)

connies are great although mine can be a bit of a tit sometimes, she's not highly strung but she does have a temper and won't do anything she doesn't want to without a bit of persuasion and she is sooo vain she can't walk past anything that reflects without staring at herself lol. fantastic jumping ponies but i wouldn't use savvy as a kids pony she looks after number1 and sod the poor buggar thats sat on her

Gem sounds alot like Savvy, and i agree, i wouldnt say they were for novices... she has a right old temper on her when she doesnt want to do something!
Shes pretty easy to win round though, but when both me and Gem are wound up, we just wind each other up even more as i think our clocks both tick in the same way!
I wouldnt have any other breed unless it had conny in now, i love my little mare, shes so forgiving, despite her being argumentative, and pretty easy to win round.
When i got her i was petrified to hack her thanks to two previous horses, and she looked after me every step of the way. She will do to a certain extent now, but shes certainly wised up to my confidence boost and now is a little strong!

yea they are good to learn on but only if you know stuff already and can stay on a stroppy mare when she really doesn't want to do it! they are really great though for doing new stuff savvy taught me to jump (well told me to hold on and she'll do it herself)

Mine couldnt even canter when i first got her, it was awful! Shes not much better now, but i will say she is better! ... She can canter now without going disunited or unbalanced, and in an outline! Oh yes, shes taught me how to sit to a buck... unfortunately her last owners so called friend didnt have the same luck and hit the deck (and now is trying to sue basically ... trying to claim my dobbin is dangerous! )

I dont know, thats what i was wanting actually, what classes would you think she'd be suitable for?
Workers is a good possibilty, if we get jumping again!!!

Yeah i'd say she'd make a good worker if she'll jump a course of rustics nicely, and boldly?! Not sure what else really it's hard to think without a particular show in mind/schedule etc. There's things like RC horse etc

Hi,
Is there not a more local RC show that you can go to? By the looks of the schedule this is quite a big agricultural show so will be of quite a high standard for your first show....Please do not get me wrong, your horse is lovely and would more than likely hold her own but i would suggest that you do some smaller, less wizzy shows to start with and then build her up to this at the end of the season. Its only May now and there must be loads of shows before August. x

Tory, that is the only 'show' here. All the rest are dressage, SJ or the odd event. Mainly the first 2. The show i do regularly has 'rider ability' but thats it as far as showing goes!
Ive done some showing classes on my cob, getting placed 2nd and 3rd everytime out...

Oh god - please do not think that i am saying you or your lovely horse are not up to it - all i meant was that it seemed quite a wizzy show for a first one but i don't know what its like as i have not been. If there are no other shows, i would suggest novice workers, local hunter and RC horse.

Im not in a great showing area unfortunately.
It is quite a big show, but is unaffiliated and affiliated depending on the class i think.
