Pete had a tiny lump in the saddle region which was thought to be a sebaceous cyst by his physio. Now he has four of them, all in similar area on his back. What are they and what can i do?

I suppose the obvious question is does his saddle fit properly? Also, does he sweat much under the saddle? If so, that could be a cause and it may be best to wash the sweat off rather than brush. Are they giving him any discomfort? If they are seabceous cysts then it's probably best not to ride until they have subsided. They're not serious but can be uncomfortable and coul become infected. I think the only way to find out for definite is to ask your vet.

First off check your numnah and saddle. Is the numnah you use bobbly on the bottom or has it not been washed for a while because this could cause lumps. Check your saddle is in good repair on the underside and has nothing on it that could rub. Also is he in a field with any thorns or trees that he could rub on to create lumps. What colour skin has he got because certain skin colours can rub more easily than others.

He seems to be getting a lot of lumps doesnt he?? Perhaps he has sensitive skin. I would give your vet a call and ask what he thinks.
I agree with the others it could be rubbing too - you should wash your saddle cloth frequently - it could also be an allergic reaction to your washing powder. I agree not to ride him as well.
I hope its an easily solved problem sol.
