figuring out what weight your rug is.

I have a stable rug that we got with Princess and i dont know what weight it would be. Its quite thick but quite lightweight too. The label is most likely faded and its an own brand rug so i cant look it up on the net.

Is there any way you can make a good guess as to what weight it would be?

Its tricky as like you say different types may be heavier than others but with not as much filling - for eg my weatherbeeta t/o is the old style with a sheepskin fur type lining - it's fairly thin, probably the equivalent of a 200g rug but it weighs far more than my 450g new premier equine one.
Have a look in tackshops to get an idea of a similar rug maybe.
