Been doing so much pole work..then we finally got jumping!!! But lost it agian! Had to go back to the start over the small ones, but she just get so over excited, having loads of lessons at the min, almost trying to get her to find tiny jumps boring..choose the song as i also feel it is my fault for pushing her out of MY limits, as i got soo tense over some rather big ones, that now it is just soo ezciting for her...back to basics...agian...it is going well...here is some for you to look at..

I do love the way you use film/photos etc to express your emotions.
Once a horse gets excited with jumping its quite difficult to regain calmness but it can happen. Patience is definitely the key and its good that you are having lessons, which can only help. Its really important as a rider not to get flustered and to remain very calm and quiet in the hands and seat.
The best method Ive found is to do 15 m or so circles in front of the jump until the horse established rhythm and regularity, then peel off and do the jump, then establish the circles once more. Never do the jump unless the horse is soft and relaxed, simply keep circling. It may mean that you do two or twenty and you should do this for every single jump.
Its also important when dong trot poles not to rush the horse through them but to slow it down and ask for lift rather than speed. Otherwise the horse gets into the habit of rushing at obstacles rather than sitting back and lifting.

... and of course now you can do raised poles thanks to potty brig!!
I love the way you use black and white - your videos are great and the song always means something rather than just random music.

Great advice, thankyou, means alot=]
She will now go rather steady into tiny ones, but because she now finds them boring(a good thing in her case) she tends to be nosy going into the jump, then either falls over poles infornt of it, or stops as she forgets what she is doing, but i think it is time to do some grid work to make her concentrate and pick her feet up, maybe?
