We jumped a small grid today of four bounces, with a placing pole infront! ;D
I love my pony! My friend with the eventers loves her, such a nippy little pony, quick to get her feet out the way! ;D
Love her to bits! ;D

Yeah, we had a bad (confidence wise) fall in the summer over a 5 bounce grid. After that she wouldnt jump anything, making me even more nervous about jumping.
Im still very nervous about jumping, when the poles went up today i started to panic just about working round them, but was fine once id been over them once ... ok, i got addicted and me and my friend on her eventer were taking it in turns ... Gem of course, left all the poles standing, whereas eventer knocked one down each time!
The issues arent with her now it seems, shes had 6 months off jumping, its now just getting me back round to the idea that it is safe ... i love jumping when im doing something i can do and i know i can do...

Wow! Well done to you then for having the guts to have a go again! I've been fortunate to not yet have had any real injuries (oh foul smelling poopy-touch wood!) and have always jumped back on as soon as can get up n had another go. Don't know if I could do it if I did tho! Think ur gr8 2 not only get back on but to have a go at something that knocked ur confidence so soon! Sounds like she's perfect for you to get back into jumping with as she's obviously got the skill and fitness if she's beating an eventer over 4bounces! Don't think even some of the ones I ride could do 4 in a row (gonna try building up 2 that 2moz if can!) Tho if we're hitting too many down may give up anyway as only me out ther 2moz n can't be doing with getting on n off 2 put back up 2 much!

Oh well done! Its great isn't it! I have only just got my confidence back with jumping since I have had Fern. My old horse was a napper and threw me inbetween a double, I headbutted saddle (LOL) and got dragged a few feet...cue about 3 years gap in jumping! :0 lol But back now! and loving it! (as long as its no bigger than 2'6) lol

Ive not gone any bigger than one hole crosses yet, but will say, the one hole y'day was bigger than the other last time.
Still chuffed with her, shes so green, but as long as i stick her in the right place, and keep myself sorted, she'll sort herself out after that.
Ive had so many falls jumping its really set me back, i got chucked into a jump wing, into a hedge after, head trampled on on landing (over 3ft oxer), come off at speed, being over jumped off ... the latter is most likely for me from these i can remember, and Gems jump is very round its easy for me to get left behind, causing me to get jumped off.
Im still very nervous, but when im jumping and im on a roll, i love it, and not nervous anymore. Would do it all day and night happily, its just getting me over it.
Must say though, ive just began to see riding as not being a chore, and to want to ride Gem too, which im so happy about. ;D
