I know!!! I've spent the last 4 days re-reading the book so I know the story inside out and managed to finish it yesterday (on the way to the yard!!) and now I'm so excited by the whole story...again...that I've started the 7th book!!! Aren't I sad? (actually, I don't care if I'm sad - Harry Potter is cool and anyone who says otherwise can't have been listening properly! ) Oooh, dressing up as HP characters...now why didn't I think of that?! (piccies if anyone does dress up )

Seen it. Took the kids to Aix to see it in English on Wednesday, the day it was released here in France. They loved it, scary bits and all. I quite liked it too.

I've been saying ever since I read the 6th book that if the film doesn't make me cry then they've done it wrong and apparently it made my sisters friends (who are big tough guys) cry...I'm so looking forward to seeing it now! ;D

Woo! Excited for you Maxi...I think if someone won't come with me to see it soon then I'm going by myself ('cos I'm cool!). Apparently they're going to make the last book into 2 films...maybe then they can keep the detail!! I don't know how true that is though

rainbow I thought that too - still a really good film though. There was some bits that werent in the book too but i suppose they changed them as the real scenes were too drawn out. I think i might have cried when i read the book but didnt even blink in the film. I had heard the inferi were scary but i had imagined them like zombies with hair and clothes - not naked alien looking things. Still, I thought it was good!!!

yea i thought the inferi would look more human like but that's only my interpretation. Rest of it was good though. And Tom Felton WOOHOO

yeah i understand that it would be too long, But i dont thnk it captured any of the best bits, it was just like nothing had happened. There was some good scenes though and the way they made the film was good. The bit with the inferi made me jump i think it made everyone in the cinema jump lol

I jumped a mile and did a wee scream at the Inferni and yes I did cry when Harry went over to DD and Jinny was hugging him!

Saw it last night - Billy no mates on my own! I too was guilty of a little shriek when the Inferni grabbed him. The girl sitting next to me was bawling when DD died. They have missed out quite a few important bits though which I can't see how they can do the next film without - maybe flashbacks?-like the stuff with Marvolo and the cup. And what was that with Bellatrix burning down the Burrow?? And DD telling HP he needs to shave - RANDOM!?!?!
Sorry, HP hype over. Must dig out my books again I think!

Yea i thought bellatrix hadn't burnt down the burrow in the book. I think i'm gonna read it again and then watch it again and see what they actually did miss. I hope they do the final book justice. It would be shame if they missed parts out of the final film though i think they are doing it in two parts

Bellatrix burns down Ron's house? WTF? Where is Bill and Fleurs wedding going to be now?!
And Harry needs to shave...ha ha ha
I'm going to see it on friday (and spent all last week re-reading the book) so I'll probably be like "Yay! It was amazing!" or "How the...? What on earth...? Who, what, where, when, how?"
I'm sooooo excited!

its hagrids house in the book but rons house in the film!!!! how confusing!!! good point - where are they going to have the wedding is right! and what about DDs funeral??
i thought the shaving thing was quite random too!!

But have Bill & Fleur even been mentioned in the films? I don't think they have (though it's been ages since I saw the last one)
See and how is Harry going to know how to look for the Cup as a horcrux? He doesn't know the history.
And I have to say there wasn't much about the half blood prince mentioned. Unless you'd read the book, I wouldn't have had a clue to the relevance of his fight with Malfoy in the toilets.
Hmm, I liked it but the more I think about it it's frustrating me.

Well I went to see it yesterday and my honest opinion is that the new director is no where near as good as the old one... They've missed TONNES out, the whole thread about horcruxes and how to find them was missed out (how the next film will make sense without all the detail that should have been in this one I do not know), and some of the characters weren't as good as they used to be...Harry, Malfoy and Luna in particular...I LOVED Bellatrix though! The woman who plays her is awesome! Hermione and Ron were good too...Ginny was a bit pants though (and where has her red hair gone?). I jumped so much when the inferi hand appeared, as did everyone else in the cinema lol, but why do they all seem to resemble a slimy-looking Lord-Of-The-Rings-"Gollum"? And yeah...what happened to dumbledores funeral?!?!?! I know the 6th book ends abruptly and every time I read it I always think "Where IS that last chapter?", but really...you can't just kill DD and then go to the credits!!! Why is Fenrir (Greyback - the werewolf) in it if the fight scene where he mauls Bill isn't in? Hmm...me thinks I could have done a better job (anyone seen "Twilight"? I could have done a much better job on that too )

My thought's exactly spotti Helena Bonham Carter is an ace actress (she gets to work with Johnny Depp me jealous never) and she pulls out all the stops when she acts. I think the others could take a leaf out of her book The inferi didn't freak me as much as much as i thought they should have. They're dead bodies taken over by dark magic make them look scary for christs sake. The way the end was done was horrific. It seemed as though the death eaters were there purely to kill Dumbledore when actually there were other reasons as well. And sad as it may sound i felt that Dumbledores funeral should have been part of the movie just to give people closure about DD's death (i know i need it) And Fenrir was very odd (though if you ask me very good looking(i think it's the whole marilyn manson/ vampire thing getting to me again) and what happened to bill and fleur. The main part of the 7th book is their wedding as that is when scrimgour dies and when the place gets attacked by death eaters and Harry,Ron and Hermione set off to find the horcruxes. I think me and you should do the next film spotti. At least then justice might be done to the ending of the stories
Rant over
