with iFor williams', the bum bars are apparently meant to click in with the pin on the inside.
ours came with the pin on the outside, and we moved it after a few people had pointed out it was wrong, but no difference seems to have been made?
makes no difference to how the horse can get out IMO? xx

The only difference it makes is ease of access to the clips.

Can I just go slightly OT and add a little warning here. My friend has the large version (can't remember number) but the one to take 17 handers. Last time out Murph rubbed his head against the partition and got his headcoller caught on a nobble on front edge of partition. We were just loading Harry so one of us was inside at the front and one just behind so we were able to quickly release him and no harm was done...however we are not sure what the 'noble' is for but needless to say the partition is now going to be turned around so it is at the rear or noble removed(if it's possible). To be honest the real cause was probably the partition height. Murph is nearly 15hh and partition is just at his head level hence rubbing and getting caught how he did. I don't think it would have been possible with a larger animal or for that matter with a smaller pony. Probably just a freak accident but could have been nasty if we had set off when he did it.

I think the 505s have the knobble bit too for fitting the anti fighting/biting head partition. My friend's horse did a similar thing to yours haffy, & rubbed her head on the partition & caught her headcollar on it. Thankfully my friend was still in the trailer at the time & managed to free her without any problems. I should imagine you can put the front one at the back as I'm sure they're the same size.

Thanks..we had no idea what it was for...we are going to try reversing the partition before the next outing, like you say there sems to be no reason why it couldn't be used the other way round.

Not sure if ours has a nobble (a 505) but will look. We had a bit of an acciedent with Blue on the morningof their big move...she got her nose caught on the hook that is supposed to hold the partition back when not in use (silly sister hadn't put it back in its place so was hanging loose) and Blue got the hook right up her nose and panicked. Luckily I managed to calm her down and get it out, no harm done, but it was scary I can tell you that!
Another thing she did was panic as we put up the bumbars once (when we were practising loading), push her head really low and backed out under the bar! She also did this forwards too! She was just at that height (11hh-11.1hh) to fit underneath the bars...pudding!

Our 510 has the nobbles and they ARE to fit the bite guard to. THANK GOD IT HAS THEM, the guard is Lolly's best friend as she is likely to loose an eye with Poppy bullying her in the trailer. Can be a bit worrying though if horses are catching themselves on them. Thanks for the warning though!!
