well my 'lost' one showed up. Turned out I didnt leave it at the show - left it in the lorry he only just felt like mentioning it though! Two days after my new one EVENTUALLY arrived! So rather than me sending ti back (as I assuem I can do in the 30 day free trial) thought id offer it here first as if anyone was thinking of getting one from experience you will ahve to wait a month (!) Would take a little less than on the site.... only gonna have it available for the next few days else Ill send it back.. Its medium by the way..

Oh crud!
I'm feeling like a plonker too as I mean to chop in my Beta Dr Cooks for the leather version but missed the 30 days deal so will now have to fork out for it and will end up with two. What a prat.
But I'm mystified by the delay Ceej - mine turned up within days, all the way to France!

hmmm, methinks really they forgot me...
well they are £66 I think on the site plus postage, and I have only used it once and can send it back for a full refund, but would take £60 plus postage? i know its not much cheaper but its here and ready to go! only open for another few days though as otherwise I must send it back....

I still have it but its going back on Saturday....I wanted the leather one but was put off by the fact they say the cross over pieces wear out and you shoudl consider using the beta cross overs for everyday use....I think the fake leather seems really real...

I agree that it doesn't look at all bad , it's just so sweaty! I don't mind using the Beta crossovers for everyday, it's mostly under the noseband and at the poll that Paco sweats a lot.

yes it is sweaty - wuld leather be much better tho? Harry always sweated under his leather browband - I just figure I notice it in the bitless as it is tighter? he doesnt seem to care!
I am going to try a noseband cover for hacking and maybe leave it bare when I need more defined steering for schooling.

Hmmm, try it in the school first Ceej - I tried a sheepskin noseband cover and I felt I lost some control. Perhaps it interferes with the action.....

We get on beautifully with our sheepskin noseband cover, but then again Faith goes alot by legs/voice/seat and only really has reins so people don't tell us we're being daft and dangerous...

you have done well spotti - normally takes years to get to that level but you have done it in such a short time and with her being out of work for so long during that time is amazing!
still reinless totally is great- we demand a video this instant!

Maxi - I'll get a video when we're in a situation that is less likely to change at the drop of a hat...we're still walking on eggshells here

Ceej - I've been trying again with the sheepskin noseband (since I have it) and there is progress. There is no doubt it 'softens' the action somewhat but on balance I think that a kinder action on the nose is not a bad thing. We are both still getting used to it but I've had some nice work out of P on trottings.
On the other hand, it is just as sweaty - well, sheepskin in this heat is bound to be I suppose! But at 7€ it was certainly cheaper than the Dr Cooks neoprene thingy.

well they sen the chin thing anyway - but I havent used it as is going back -its just a length of padding - not even any attachment, so me being me, I fashioned one out of the off cut of limpit pad I had..I cut a channel for the noseband to go through. Seemed fine but as it bulked it up I wonder if it affected his breathing at all, and difficult to tell if it was tight enough/to tight. trial and error methinks....!!
