I have an eng lit exam next week and the poetry section is on a selection of poems from William Wordsworth and William Blake. Now I dont suppose there is a revision guide on this so im a bit stuck as to how to revise them! We have a workbook with the poems in it and theyre all annotated and stuff - there is also summary notes with each one explaining it a bit more but thats about it. How could I go about revising this? I would usually make notes and then read through them before I go to the exam but I dont see how I could make notes on the poems without basically just copying everything out again! Help needed

it is a veeeeeeerrrrry long time since I was at school so i will not be much help but I think from my memories you need to understand what the poem is about what analogies the poet is using and what that means to you.
I dont think it is a totally objective section there has to be some subjective parts to it? still as I said it was slate and chalk for me!

read the poems through with them annotated and then take a blank version of the poems and rea nnotate them. do this a couple of times for each poem (i know it will take quite a bit of time but it works honest). this is what i did for all my poems in my lit exam and amazingly i passed it!!!!!! i can still remember most of the poems now and could easily annotate them if need be!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

There is one very long one called Nutting which is what it could be or Prelude. Thanks for the advice Jen - got that to look forward to then. Attempting to revise Far From The Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy - and also have An Inspector Calls by JB Priestly to do as well. Meh. Will let you know how I get on in the exam - haha!

Well, the exam went well - very surprised. I got all the questions finished and I wrote about 2 and a half sides for each of the books. I think I could have written more if I had more time to think but it was just comfortable - 2 hrs and 15 mins. In my mock I failed both my english exams - cringe. Anyway - not sure if ive passed it or not - i did foundation you can only get up to a C but at least ive attempted all the questions and wrote a decent amount for each.
Ended up i didnt get any time to revise the poetry or an inspector calls - quite glad that i revised far from the madding crowd as it is quite a complicated book. I also found that I could have written a whole load more for the poetry section ; i was expecting it to be really tricky.
