Can somebody explain this to me? Its in Prelim 13 2006 and I have to give and retake reins in trot on a circle.

I assume that they just want u to lose the contact and take it up again. Prob to show he's not leaning on you or needing to be held back...

Flea- just push your hands forward to a slow count of three and take them back to a slow count of three, as Arumanii says it to ensure the horse is not dependent on being held in place. Practice this at home by a half halt, then give the lightest contact but keep your legs supportive, then give and retake.

Thanks for the advice - had a wee practice of it today. He doesnt really lean anyway - just trundles along with his nose poked out!

hey! did this test a few months ago, and what they are looking for, like above, that he is not relying on your hands, and his movment should stay the same, like above just give the reins for 1 stride, as thats all the judge is looking for x
