went to plug i pod into laptop to charge and put a few new albums on and it says that the device is not recognised!! its the same ipod I have always had and dont know what to do!

The message says to try and reinsert it and if that doesnt work to replace it

I cant afford another one!!

if it does it again and keeps on doing it then back up your iTunes library then delete iTnes from you pooter before removing your iPod from you list of devices for said pooter then just reinstall everything. if that dont work then try ringing the technical guys at apple.
