Went to my riding lesson tonight and got on Geronamo, and the riding instructor said to us "you guys happy to do a bit of jumping tonight". We all said yes and I thought thats a bit wierd we usually do some jumping,,,but she meant JUMPING.
They'd bought some polyblocks which they were obivously putting to use. We done a few smaller fences then they put up a 2 ft jump followed by a 3 foot double
She jumped it on the horse she was on and we just assumed she was demonstrating (this horse has been to olympia!) anyways then the man at the front did it on his horse, and the girl behind him. I said to her I didn't feel I had the guts to do it and she said we'd be fine, but they'd put the first element down if I wanted, which I agreed. only by 6 inches though!
I was seriously scared, but I loooooove Geronamo. So decided to give it a try went over the first bit come round to the double, over the first bit, up and over the second; he jumped it beautifully. I was in a bit kamakazie mode; point, kick and pray. I stumbled up his neck a bit on landing though, and she said I needed to give a bit more with me hands. I've never jumped a double that big and never any bigger than 2ft 3" on anything that wasn't Fire. I'm so excited/in shock I just had to share it. The Adrenalin was abosulutley flying around me afterwards (I think it still is!). Terrifying! He really looked after me though such a puppet.
I wish with Geronamo and Fire one was a mare and the other a stallion cos I think there foal would be my perfect horse. ;D
