You should think yourself lucky you don't live in France. I sold my 10-year-old Espace with nothing wrong with it. The new owner broke the first gear and ... I seem to be having to pay for a new gearbox

Ouch thats not good. Cars are just soo expensive to keep going. Mine really needs the brakes doing (we make a grinding noise now when stopping!) but I know I'm gonna be looking at a couple of hundred quid.

Mine were annoying as for my car alone for that specific year are 4 different types! Stupid pug's. But i just got mine from halfords and my bf and his mate ftted them for me. The garage wanted over £200 to do it. We said nah. Cant member exactly how much they were but it was definalty a hell of alot cheaper than the garage. somthing every year akways fails on my little suzi bless her

It's because I've been naughty and not got them done eralier - so now I need new pads (cheap) and disks!

yep brakes £366 need new pads and disks as one of the disks has warped? timing belt (not part of the mot but due) £350 5 year service (apparently the biggest one of its life £450 air conditioning service £70 head light bulb fuel clip windcreen wipers etc etc etc
so it all adds up but as all I have had done to the car in the 5 years that I have owned it (aside from annual service) is a new windscreen wiper blade and new tyres I can't really complain too much it is unfortunate it has just all come at once... sso the credit card is going to get a big hit.

Oww I don't think my car's worth 1400! I've just had new break pads as mine were grinding but they were only £10 (oh fitted them). Hopefully your car will be fine for ages now though

havnt u got someone that could do it for u like the timing belt cause u can get them way cheaper than that from halfords if u got someone to do it. My oh just got one for his car. It would save u alot of money if did have someone. But oucch!

because they assed about so much with the car - I have managed to get them to knock the price down to £915... Still a lot of money but a reduction of £500 aint bad

Ouch! That's a big hit to take all at once. But what can you do, we all need our cars.
