Wasnt sure where to put this thread so just stuck it here.
Well, I came 2nd - havent a flipping clue how that happened! Kieran went nicely in our warm up but pretended to be scared of the crate that had a marker in it and ran off. Then when I got him into the arena he felt quite unwilling and fell out of canter a couple of times - bit hard to steer as well. However, on our test sheet there are some good comments such as a good halt at the end - it felt like i just pulled him into halt. They didnt even comment about me falling out of canter.
Anyway, it a was a nice day out and the weather was great - I was really hot!
Heres stuff off my score sheet if anyone is interested:
I got all 6s and 7s . The two 7s were for "medium walk, E turn right, B turn left, M working trot" and "working canter round the arena, between B and M working trot". I got a 12 for my free walk. This is the overall comment "Harmonious test, lovely ridden. Try to use more leg to keep your pony going more forward. Also, watch your inside bend at corners."
61% - i think the first place was 65.5% so a good result. I wasnt expecting to get such a good mark because all the other horses looked as if they were going better than Kieran felt - maybe he looked ok though!
Mum and Dad thought I could have ridden him a bit more, and suggested doing two tests the next time, to get more out of it. Not going back next week but there is another competition at another yard (outdoor again!) at the beginning of May so will go there
Anyway, there is a pic and a short video - the memory card was too full
