....when your computer is making a noise like an aeroplane? It does it for a while and then stops but it's getting more frequent. I can't afford a new one

could be the fan can pick up a cheap comp from ebay my last one cost 32 pound and 10 for posting it had xp and other stuff on it and it works fine

Ah. It's a destktop and the noise does seem to be coming from the side so probably is the fan!
Jadk, I think I would be nervous of buying a computer from ebay but it sounds like you got a real bargain.

Mine sometimes does that too but mainly if ive got a CD in the drive.

probably dust in the inards! I had desktop that did it and I left it with the result it died and nearly took all my files with it so maybe get it looked at sooner rather than later! and back up everything as well.

I'm looking at it now and it is pretty dusty on the outised at the back so I'll bet there's a load inside. iIve been rather lax with this one and I haven't got anything backed up. Better spend this evening doing that. I love the notion that it's thinking hard, though. Sav, they think you're strange enough already.

Sounds like dust on the fans, ares makes this noise when its getting hot!
Take the sides off the tower and hoover it out, we do this most of the time and it seems to work!

I would bet a months wage that that you are right... the fix it man laughed and I felt very embarrassed when he opened my pc und showed me the insides!! They have a lil hoover in the front of thwir shop as it is a common problem!

my desktop gets so loud when i have a disk in the drive only thing that is noisy on it. Glads its all ok now x
