...I'm going to the National Stud at Newmarket!!

Think finefilly(?) said she went a little while ago!

Only found out this morning as some of you might remember I had last week off college looking after my 2yo brother while mum was in hospital so I didn't even know! So glad I found out today as otherwise I would have turned up at college tomorrow in all my riding gear as Thurs is normally our riding day! lol

Sooo excited I have no other info about it so not sure if its the exact same place as where finefilly went...But I will have camera at the ready at all times!

Well I went, it rained all day but it was great! Was a massive place! didn't manage to get many pics as weather was s#it and was too busy oogling the horses lol
There was loads of stallions(obviously) but these were my favourites!

Beautiful stallion, "C o c kney Rebel". Son of Val Royal. Totally gorgeous!

we went to the Dalham hall stud in Newmarket. i havent been to the National Stud. my OH has delivered horses there and he says it is gorgeous. very big.

their website is www.nationalstud.co.uk. the stallion Mill Reef was there. they have a huge statue of him.

Yeah amberleigh house was so lovely! the woman was saying that they regret gelding him!

The foster mum mare was also so sweet natured! She stood out from the TB's like a sore thumb, bless her! I actually want her!! lol

they are great pics. glad you had a good time. next time i go to newmarket i will go there as i think you probably see more than at Sheikh mohammed's stud. he doesnt have mares and foals, just stallions. My OH takes mares to stud at National Stud and he even knows the pin code to get in security gate! mite nick it! lol ;D

we just got this years darley stud brochare with all the stallions they own world wide its over 150 pages but some beautiful horses in there just a case of winning the lottery or finding £25,000

I went to the irish National stud a few years ago it was awesome. even the non-horsey OH enjoyed it.

Sounds like you had a fab day. I went to the National Stud years ago when I was in college & it was amazing. Everything has a place & if I remember rightly, there are no corners in the paddocks, they are all curved (I may be imagining that!). I was also suprised by the size of the stallions. They seemed so small in the flesh!
