He keeps making his water brown from his filthy chops. Can he over-dose on a lick? He's not gettng another one for a bit it was £12!

My horse can eat them in the space of a few hours. He doesn't get them often anymore. I should imagin he'll be fine after eating most of it, my horse has never shown any ill effects after scoffing tthe lot apart from a sticky nose lol hope this puts your mind at rest

Savs isn't allowed them. Her record is 30mins to get rid of one she just bites it lol. Perfectly normal and if you don't give them to you horse often it should be fine.

It's quite normal! Mine rarely have them now for this very reason but any form of licky treats I have to ration. I have yet to come across a horse who dosen't think their called eat its!!

Fig used to bite his in half and chomp the lot in a matter of minutes despite it hanging in his stable - he perfected the art of pushing it into a corner balancing it on his nose while he turned his head sideways and biting it in half - I gave up giving them to him in the end.
I do have a little garlic lick that I use as a treat or if I need to poke about on them - at the moment Chompy is getting it to distract him whilst I clean up his mud fever. takes his mind of the ouchiness of what I am doing.

I thought that is what you meant anyway (bern isn't allowed either, mean mum ay). There is a lot of sugar in them because of the mollases (i'm guessing they don't de-sugary-fy them) so could make him a bit hyper, i would think its like eating a massive bar of chocolate, may have a tummy ache? this is just me thinking out loud so please don't take it a written i would def say that if he gets another one rationing it is a must though

Murph use to have horselyx and devoured them in about a week or so when he had to come in at night in winter at a previous yard. Since his lami he is only allowed a certain brands (forgot the make) non heavily molassed version that is okay for laminitics...neddless to say it dosen't go down half as well!

I bought kip a field lick for his stable over winter, he actually grates chunks off it and a 15kg tub usually lasts him about a week, so he only gets them every few weeks now lol

AJ can consume a "Likit" in 10 mins, he is particularly fond of the cherry and bannana flavours, not surprisngly he gets them very infrequently! Zx
