If anyone else is like me, very forgetful and has to be reminded about boring routine stuff like worming etc. I thought that I would let you know that I have found the intelligent worming programme brilliant.
You fill a questionnaire about how you keep your horse, make any specifications you want re wormers and they do the rest, wormers drop through your letter box at the appropriate times, all you have to do is get it down ypur horses throat, they also do regular egg counts and amend your programme so that you don't over worm.
If anyone is thinking of signing up to it please could you say you were recommended by me (PM for my full name) as I then get £5 off my next year's membership. Sorry for the pitch but it just had to be done!
Oh and the prices of the wormers are competetive, if you can find it cheaper they will refund the difference (I think, I've never bothered to look)

Ooh, didn't realise about the fiver off! There are a couple down our yard planning on joining up so will look into that. I've been really pleased with Intelligent Worming too. Murph and his 2 field buddies are on it. Murph's had a clear count followed by a high count, but the other two horses were clear both times. Just shows that different horses have different immunity levels and need to be treated as individuals, which is why this programme is so good.  |

How much is the subscription ? etc and do you know if they do herbal worming programme as I do not want chemicals for my two boys this time around

I was going to ask the same question!
Just found their website but no costs bar something saying it costs £1 to £2 a week per horse in a header. I am sure I pay far less than that a year at min as mainly use counts and herbal wormers...odd chemicial if count is high.....what exactly do you pay/get? Are all your wormers included in cost or are they additional costs?

Cost depends on size/weight of horse and what situation they are kept in. You need to give them some info in order for them to tell you the price. I think they class you as low, medium or high risk and the price reflects this. Murph is 16hh, 4yrs old and kept in a field with two other horses who are also on the programme. They only graze 2 fields which no other horses ever go in and we poo pick twice a week. I pay £89 for a year. This includes worm counts and any wormers necessary (plus 2 wormers for tape regardless as the worm counts don't pick them up). I don't have to keep a record of when he's due a worm count and what sort of wormer he's due. It just lands in a packet on the doorstep. The others get theirs at the same time (or within a couple of days). Obvioulsy you have to pay a bit extra for being a lazy sod but I think it's worth it. ;D

Wow that is such a good idea! Worming is my biggest pet hate, bern gets wormed a week after the other horses so i get a weeks notice haha not ideal i know but i just am poop at remembering
