We were practising loading today. Got the trailer hitched up, and got Fire to load in 10 mins! he hasn't been on a trailer for 5 years, and the last two that came on premises took his buddies away. At first he was unsure and he'd go on a min then walk back down, looking around him. (I think he was looking for Dad cos he'd hide round the side then put the ramp up). But with a food bribe he came on without much persuation. So when he was on I let him eat his dinner and when he was nearly done I got him to get off it (I wanted him to get off the trailer on my terms) and let him eat the rest of it whilst I put the ramp up. He wasn't bothered at all. ;D ;D ;D

can't believe it, He used to take an hour + to load. Once we went out and I had to hack him home cos we couldn't get him back on!

and we did 1st jump today in about 3 months. only a little cross pole, but we did it at the speed I chose ;D very controlled. Hopefully promsing start *crosses fingers*

sounds like you had an amazing day, are you planning on taking him up to your RS for a lesson?

Prob not, There is so much stuff going on there it'd probably blow his brains. Theres an indoor school 10-15 min drive from us (could hack it but theres 2 main roads I just don't fancy) Might hire it for a hour and take it from there, then I can lunge him if hes too excited! What I really have me heart set on is some pleasure rides. I'd like to do indoor trec too but I can't see us being ready for that yet, have till wait till next year. N maybe jumping if my nerves can take it.

sounds like a good day! ;D Pleasure Rides are fun - im a member of my local bridleway group but have only been to one ride so far and it was a disaster - my nerves were wrecked! I was on Princess. But it would have been more fun if I had felt more confident.

We so should have signed up for the rides when I had Connie but I cant remember if we knew about them then or not.
