Mine are hot too, it's this bloomin freak weather..Harry still has a lot of coat too. They are spending a lot of time by own choice in shelter but apart from this (does jack have acess to shelter?) there is not much you can really do...next week it will probably flood and they will need rugging again...grrrrr
Rode last night at half seven and it was still hot so haven't bothered today.

The shedding blades work really well, I also always let my horse roll in the sand school after he has worked, then let him dry and brush him off- it relaxes him and seems to get the hair out- its just about gone now and his coat is really glossy! brig

the blade thingy is great but even if he had lost his coat he might still be too hot. I think what you are doing is correct and there is not much you can do other than ensure he has plenty water and try not to worry too much. I hate the heat as well!!

I love watching them roll! always let Basil after exercise- saves time trying to cool him down as they dry off much quicker once theyve been down- must be some sort of calming mechanism they have! brig

A good roll tends to get a lot of winter coat out. Warrior hates the heat too, just like his owner. We both wilt in it. I think its cos he's big and dark coloured & I'm a freckly red head.
