Just back, having taken Brave to his second dressage competition. (I am on a roll) and they had moved the flower pots.
This time the were all one just one long side of the arena and they had put 4 little trees along the other...
We had had a very spooky day anyway, as they started shooting in the field opposite mine (literally 10 feet away from the horses) so the three of them were flying around the field. and it took me ages to catch them
The when we got there they had sectioned off one part of the warm up arena as they are working on the building and didn't want anyone in there so 10 horses at one point were trying to warm up in a less than 40mx20m area.
Plus there were two really ill mannered riders who thought they owned the place and where ever I was they came at me in the opposite direction and forced me to either stop of hit them (didn;t seem to understand the pass left to left rule).
Then something went bang 4 of the horses including Brave shot down to the other end of the arena, 1 horse went up rearing and another bronced... so all in all the warm up was less than useful.
Into the main arena and Brave decided after all that the flower pots really were going to eat him so reversed right into the centre of the arena and wouldn't move for what felt like ages.
We did end up scoring 57.5% so a slight improvement on Saturday and he did settle so that for the last 2 movements (one of which was the free walk) we scored 7's do very pleased
We are back 2 weeks from today so lets hope the don't move the flower pots again.
