I was at the pet shop this morning and they were selling amongst other small animals, Rabbits. Also selling hutches the size of a small suitcase ish. Got me thinking about the HELL some rabbits etc must be living in. If they were moon bears living their entire life in a cage just big enough to turn round in there would be an outcry (and rightly so), but this is happening in our own country on our doorstep, bet there's thousands out there that live their entire life in solitary confinement, once the novelty has worn off. What do others think?

My two rabbits lived alone for the majority of their lives. My first one was a house rabbit and once she settled down she was meant to stay in the kitchen, but frequently jumped out to be with us. She was erm, our guard rabbit... heaven forbid anyone who was new walking into our house, theyd lose limbs!!! (We think she was beaten or certainly badly treated before we had her) My second rabbit had a g. pig for a year of her life, with us. We couldnt really get another rabbit, it wouldnt be fair on Fudge, as usually unless theyre bought as pairs and kept together from birth its hard to get them to get along, can work but doesnt always. But... this is how they both lived their lives when outside (Alice wasnt outside during winter, only summer when it was nice) i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/paddy95/Photo0098.jpgAnd a video, these were taken literally days before she became ill s5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/paddy95/?action=view¤t=Video12240001.flvThe green cover on the top of the hutch is covering an upstairs, in complete darkness so she had a bigger 'bedroom'. RIP Alice and Fudge This pic was taken *after* she became ill, she was incontinent, so was coming in for baths and antibiotics daily I still have her towel, and the ball shes playing with. And Alice, with 'Pink Alice' and Ginger (pic is too big to not be thumbnailed) Pink Alice went everywhere with Alice, she'd wash her like she was her baby, and carry her everywhere. We had Penny, our g. pig for 4 years in total, unfortunately she died a year after we had Fudge, my fault. Fudge would have been roughly 2years old in this pic, we never knew her proper age as she was a stray.

Your Bunnies are lucky, but I'm sure thousands must be kept alone in those tiny little boxes long forgotten about by the kids they were bought for

Kate Flashy, my sister has rabbit and it lived very happily with 2 cats - in fact we thought she thought she was a cat as she loved playing with them and ate their food. Maes Seren, Your photos are lovely
