The hairy pony is scared of noisy doors! She practically jumped out of her skin when someone unexpectedly opened the door earlier (and amazingly I didn't even move! Independant seat coming along nicely me thinks...thank you schooling sessions ). She doesn't bat an eyelid at violent wind, flying leaves, the Red Arrows flying overhead (bearing in mind they practise here aaaall the time and sound like bombber planes 'cos they fly so low) or anything I'd expect her to be scared of, but give her a noisy door or a bush that she's seen a million times before and she's scared of it! The pudding!

hee hee horses are so funny. Fire piled on the brakes the other days at some very very very scary....grass yet plastic, shooting, pheasents, beaters with big white flags! and planes are just fine. I wish I could talk to horses I'd be very interested to find out how thier minds work. Good job for staying put! Sounds like you guys are making good progress now. Its better shes ok with all the proper scary stuff and just funny about the door I think!!!

Thinking back, I'm not sure if it was the door that scared her or the funny-looking woman that appeared from behind it (sorry woman!)...we'll try again another day and see what happens... And horses are VERY funny things. Strange how she's scared of silly things (probably not so silly to her though - obviously they are all horse-eating monsters!) yet she never does anything stupid or naughty, just plain scared-ness and a bit of snorting...sometimes I think she pretends to be scared just to make me giggle

hahaha, fox doesn't like the big old oak tree in the paddock, but will happily stand near it when he's in the feild grazing, and black birds, hot air ballons and sheep (which surround his feild) are the other things he jumps at. hot air ballons are the worst cos they just make him jumpy for the rest if the evening if ones been other.

Hahaha bless her I've just had to save Brandy from the killer bits of plastic bags, he assured me they were going to eat him, so I had to get them away from him But low flying bomber planes, really noisy ones, really low in the sky, don't bother him, strange creature.... Oh I almost forgot, the pony eating...sparrows

I will try to remember my camera next time we go hacking and come back past that door and see if I can catch the whole thing on video...it really is funny! (and if you don't laugh at Faith then you will probably laugh at me laughing my head off in the background 'cos my pony is such a pudding!)
Although knowing Faith, she'll be absolutely fine with the offending door now that I want you guys to see her!!

Just remembered a funny incident when I had Princess. We were out on a hack and there was a scary looking green plastic sheet at the side of the road. I kicked on trying not to care if she took off and she went past it but it was so funny, she went to the far side of the road and moved like she was sneaking like a robber. It felt like she was tiptoeing, pmsl!
Princess is fine with loads of stuff - fillers, traffic cones, roadworks etc (sometimes she will look at something but the next day she will walk past without even looking), drilling, banging etc. But she has this reflex action where she jumps, even when shes eating her haylage. If you popped your head over the door she would jump.
