I got my coloured cob a height certificate last year. Go onto the Joint Measurement Board website and it will give you a list of vets in your area who are registered with them to take a height certificate. What you'll need to do though before you get her/him measured is have her/his shoes removed as they won't measure with them on. I arranged mine so that it fell in line with his shoeing, had them taken off, had him measured and then put back on the following day. The JMB changed the rules for 2009 and you'll now have to have him/her microchipped too - this was brought in to stop cheating (ponies/horses being re-registered under a different name!). As for dress you can wear a tweed jacket but best with shirt and tie rather than a coloured stock. Canary colour breeches/jods, black boots, brown leather gloves and not forgetting your hat! To finish it off a showing cane. Keep your pony's tack simple (snaffle bridle) and WH saddle (as they're more straight cut than a GP). If you want to affiliate then I'd register with C.H.A.P.S as it's quite reasonably priced and they hold quite a few qualifiers around the UK - www.chapsuk.com. Hope the above helps - have fun

Thanx Racaille as I'm registered with CHAPS I get 'Showing World' magazine for free which keeps you up-to-date with what's going on in the showing world. I will try and take some photo's of him this year promise. Last year wasn't good for us as I wasn't very well myself but I'm now back in the saddle and am now starting to get his fitness back up ready to compete later in the year. He's been out of proper work for 2 years so as you can imagine it's going to take a while to get him back to where he was.
