I have posted off my first entry for a dressage competition with Brave this morning, it will take place on 10th Jan and is a Scottish Farmer/Rowallan qualifier (that probably doesn't mean much to anyone who isn't in Scotland), but I am going more for the experience than anything else at this stage.
I have entered 2 classes Prelim 1 and Prelim 7. I will of course let you know how it goes.

Good luck Fi for the 10th Jan. What kind of preparation are you putting in? I love dressage. I'm sure it will be a great experience.

Ro, the one in January is at Dabbs so definately further away from you, good luck on 21st, I have sent you a Karma for luck see your thread about Prelim 10 Ah yes Dabbs in some way away - Rowallan is about 40 minutes just, so is ideal. And we have been there before to do clear round so it isn't too strange... Thank you for the karma, I shall keep it safe - sending you some too (when I can after I have dished it out to my encouragers ..)

my dressage test preperation will go a bit like this: 1) covince OH it would be a really good idea to buy me Zoon's dressage saddle as an xmas pressie 2) get over the cold/flu thing that is plaguing me at the moment as leaving me exhausted after mucking out so have no energy to ride 3) Order Brave a new bit as I have borrowed a copper french link snaffle which he is going really well in (its a milder bit than then one he came in and he seems to like it) 4) I'd better learn the tests 5) have a quick practice - I never practice the test over and over as it makes the horse stale so I generally ride all the movments but not in the correct order or place then run through the test once 6) practice corners, use the full corner of the arena to make the diagonals much easier to ride and the judges like it 7) practice the centre line trot to halt
