It has not been a relaxing weekend of riding for me this weekend.
When we left there was chainsawers in the wood, not that he really minds. then the neighbours both sides started shooting. One lot i don't think are very good because it sounded like machine gun fire! N the other lot he could see there trucks in the distance and was quite concerned. (prob cos it was the old pig track) anyways turned back into the top path, walked down the wood a bit.
Then two motorbikers appeared! Luckily I heard them jumped off and waved at them and they slowed down. They got off the path went on the field beside us a overtook. I'm pleased that they slowed down..and thanked them...even though they shouldn't be on there *grumble grumble grumble*
He was quite excited when i got back on and power walked. He is ok though if we stick to walk when hes had a bit of a shock. He just explodes if asked to go faster (all that pent up energy).
N today it was a bit frosty so I took him for a relaxing walked on grassy tracks/in the woods. Just turned for home entered a piece of woodland and a coupla really loud shots went off. He is usually excellent with gunfire but that was ridiculous it sounded like we were being shot at! He leapt forward and spun round to take a look. less than 50m away on a public right of way (which I'm sure can't be legal?!) there was a man shooting He saw us got in his car and drove of. haven't got the fuzziest what he was shooting, its illegal to shoot game on a Sunday and he wasn't decoying...Was a bit wierd really.
I'm glad Fire is a farm pony he does seem generally able to absorb all the farmy stuff that goes on. I wouldn't wanna ride any other with all that stuff going on. I love my boy
