;D I rode Brave bareback today!
it was the first time I felt confident enough just to hop on board (well he had his rug on) and ride the 1/4 mile down the road to the field. I regularly do this with Chomps but until today hadn't with Brave.
He was such a good boy he had one little 'whats that' moment but carried on walking, ;D

we have our ups and downs, I found the next milestone yesterday... I came off him for the 1st time.
He as never done any jumping as he was broken by a dressage rider who keeps all 4 feet on the ground. and I have been working him over poles and he was starting to jump them so I decided to put up a little fence - forgetting that it might be a good idea to ride him over a pole between the blocks first, well we trotted up to it and he did an abrupt halt-reverse-spin which left me hanging over his shoulder, this then worried him and he spun agin and in slow motion I came off and he bronced his way around the arena, got up caught him lead him over the fence (it was only 10cm high) then got back on walked, trotted and cantered over it, but feeling very stiff through my shoulders today... well lesson learnt anyway

Ow ! God, haven't we all done this! Everything is going swimmingly and we just just getting a little, perhaps, overconfident .... and we eat dirt! Hope your shoulder isn't too hurty - hot bath and wine always help!!! (And I am the expert! I must have come off Paco about 55 times when I was trying to teach him to jump )
