Rant time

Right so i haven't had one for a while (i dont think haha)

Get a call this morning (stuck in traffic on way to work so bad mood anyway) Bernie has broken the electric fence and is in with Della(mare nextdoor) Rod and the two foals are in with Bernie's lot (were in with Della) and Rocky (her horse, big wimp) is shaking in the corner cos Rod woldn't let him join the newly made herd.

Anway, i say OMG he did it while you were there? as she said it was Bernie. to which she replied oh no they were like that when i got here. Well erm hang on how did she "know" it was Bernie??? Yes he has done in before when the grass got low but he is in a lush field, plus the fence was broken into our field as if coming out of the other one?!!!! (my friend was up there about 5min later and told me this)

Even if it was Bernie, he isn't stupid, he goes for weak areas, and the people next door decided to change the very strong existing fence line to cut into our field so they could get some shelter from the bushes (which we did agree too, well didn't really have a choice) So this new area was done with smaller leccy tape and spindley leccy fence posts (as opposed to the wooden stakes and thick stuff put in by the farmer)

It just makes me mad that everyone will assume it was Bernie when there is no proof. I'll get the "gosh what are we gonna do with him" talk when i go up later

Suggest all the owners of all the horses involved ask their horses to sign a document whereby they swear never to break a fence ever again. That's about the most realistic thg to do...
Alternatively, produce some form of elementary physics explaining how Bernie CANNOT break into his own field, however brainy he is. Hehe, BrainyBernie!

I suppose one thing in my favour is usually when he does it he doesn't break the tape. and this time it's broken. Bernie just pushes a post over or magically teleports to the otherside cos other times there is no sign of how.

I know exactly how you feel!! My horse Cori was blamed for everything when I had him in livery. I don't deny he was a spirited animal but some of the times he was blamed for were completely impossible for him to have done- the injustice of it used to drive me mad- but give a horse a bad name....try and keep calm and don;t say anything until you've a chance to calm down cus if you;re like me, you'll start to get all worked up and passionate about it and logic and reasoning come better when you're cool!

mmmmm I got the whole ' we had to put electric tape on the fence because Max is leaning over it' When i suggested the field owner turn round there was Max in the middle of the field and the other 4 horses leaning over the fence!! hehe

My horse gets blamed for stuff too. The latest thing is that its his fault that the other horse is misbehaving really bad for his owner & is difficult to hack out on his own.
