I actually hadn't read your post until just now arumanii, but I did what you said just yesterday...we went for a walk in the field, heard some of Faith friends calling her, she wouldn't settle so we went in with the others and just had a run around and a play. All good fun, and MY GOD she can't half gallop! Really wish I could have been on her back though (will slowly reintroduce saddle now vet says I can ride her again and do just what you suggested...hop on and off and just enjoy being silly!)
I think you deserve a karma for being so helpful (and you've made me smile - a good thing since I've got an A-level physics practical exam in about half an hour, so smiles are always good! Ta!)

how was the exam spotti? and hows faith now?
you've probably heard this all before but i'l say it anyway, spend loads of free time with faith, without asking anything of her. eg, go up to her in the field and give her a treat r two, or even just sume lush grass she cant reach, and then walk off and leave her. she'll soon love your visits. if shes safe enough, sit in the corner of her stable (when shes not eating ect) as herd instincts then mean she may try and defend you, if i do this Sox stands at her stable door as if on the lookout for danger. to twist this the other way round; protect her. when shes eating tea or something, stand at her stable door as if your keeping an eye out, sounds odd but herd instincts can really help a bond.
cant think of anything else now, will add later x

Grrr!! I'm rapidley loosing my confidence and I don't know why!!
I think its because I've been used to riding at a riding school where there are alot of kids with less experience than me; and suddenly I'm riding horses that are completely different and I am out of my depth.
This makes me feel like a bad rider and makes me worry everytime I ride these different horses.
I've never suffered with confidence before and it's really annoying me!! Please help!

just don't think about what other people think of you and your riding and keep practising. the top riders still have lesson and take criticism for their riding. you're not out of your depth just out of your comfort zone but the more you gett out of it the more confident you will get. i find throwing myself right in at the deep end getting on new horses and doing different things really boosts my confidence
