Murph and I are doing our first dressage test on Sunday. Just a walk and trot test. He's only been backed 7 months so we're not expecting too much. Actually just to remember it would be good! Not going to plait up as thought people might expect us to do a good test if we looked the part. So going for the slightly scruffy, just on a day out look. ;D

I'm really envious! I'd love to do a walk and trot test, Paco can be quite good when he wants. ~Like the non-plaiting idea, how clever! Have fun and enjoy!

dont forget to tell the judge that its your 1st test with him, they wont be more lenient but they will be more helpful with their comments

Thanks everyone for your support. Will let you know how it goes.

Oh what a good boy Murph was!! ;D Didn't know what to expect as it was his first trip out with other horses about. Went with neckstrap in place ready for any outbursts but he was an absolute angel. He was so calm in the warm up area even when other horses were passing him. I spent so long walking him round and keeping everything quiet that we didn't really get much time to trot before going into the arena, so he was a little sluggish throughout the test. He had a good look at the white arena edge markers but soon settled. Wasn't expecting much as we've only really been working on trot for a month now but he did a good test - a little jerky and bendless but not bad for a horse that's only been backed just over 6 months. Judges were really nice to us and gave us quite a few 7s. 10 in the class and we came 5th!!! ;D Considering we were only really there to see how he would react I was over the moon. ;D Some piccies at links (need to get a camera with a decent zoom): i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq317/joandlad/Warmingup.jpgi459.photobucket.com/albums/qq317/joandlad/Test.jpgi459.photobucket.com/albums/qq317/joandlad/5thplace.jpg
