I dont know what it is called but YO is proposing to use some sort of brewery waste product in feed in place of sugar beet Does anyone know what it is or have any experience of it ? I am worried it will be too heating for my horse

Thanks Kflashy I have found out a bit more about it today and it seemst is the exxtract from the barley left over from the brewing process You soak it and use it in the same way as sugar beet the advantage to the YO is that it is free from the brewery I am not too happy about it as it is an unknown quantity but as my mare lives out with three others they are all fed the same in the week by the YO so there is not much I can do without moving her but she is happy where she has been for years with her 3 friends I suppose I will have to wait and see how she is on it

Brewer's Yeast actually has a calming effect and is sold by "Simple Systems" as a supplement. I gave it AJ last winter and it seemed very good, only reason I stopped was i had trouble getting hold of it. Zx www.simplesystem.co.uk/complementaryfeeds.asp
