Have noticed when lunging Princess that there is a clicking noise from her back end - difficult to pinpoint whether its quarters or legs. And only/usually happens at walk - well, have only noticed it at walk. Why is this happening and what could it be?

Sounds like it could be slightly loose ligaments in the stifle, we call it clicky hip(which is a contradiction as its the patella/knee) here and its nothing to worry about in a relatively unfit horse as it usually disappears with fitness work and schooling. If it persists or theres anysign of discomfort ask the vet when next on yard, they can test if its simply a fitness thing or a more serious problem (usually never! and if it is its now curable) so dont worry - if you are concerned then long rein in straight lines until you get it checked.

brig - she was ridden in a small arena today on the flat by some people who we might have given her to, so they could sell her for us (not going near them again, pricks! smart bottoms etc!) - so if she was doing any clicking im sure they would have noticed - they noticed everything else! Thanks for the advice brig

Fern gets clicky sometimes especially if she has been stabled and I ride her early in the morning. Its nothing to worry about just make sure you warm her up properly. Possibly a joint supplement like cod liver oil or something but like brig said it should ease off the fitter she gets.
