I have ordered a black fixed block jumping saddle with nutmeg piping thank god for tax rebates! He went very nicely in it - saddle fitter noticed his uneven shoulders and explained how that means he's better in trot on the right rein, canter on the left etc. Very interesting! Wonder how you become a wow saddle fitter, would love to do that. I've had to order it with shortened flaps too as my legs are little stumps!

cool - when will it arrive? do you mind me asking how much?
Why are WOW saddles better? I have heard nothing bad about them but apart from looking different I dont know what the differnce is?

12th November, 6 week wait cost £1595 for competitor sadde - this one is completely modular i.e. you buy the flaps, panels, seat, etc all separately so each part is perfectly fitted to horse and rider. Zoon has 18" panels as he is a big lad, but my bum only needs a 17" seat and thats exactly what I get. I aso get the flaps exacly as I want them - shorter than normal and angles differently to normal and also without the calf block. And I got to choose the colours of my leather! But apart from all those exciting bits (and believe me there is loads more to decide on that I haven't listed) that make it perfectly shaped to both horse and rider it has flair rather than wool flocking which is more comfortable to both horse and rider and can be adjusted to compensate for lopsidedness in both horse and rider. And also I'll never need another saddle again as it is completely adjustable and if need be I can jsut buy another part (new panels for a shorter backed horse for instance and just attach my seat and flaps etc!) search for wow on google and see what other people hae said about them, or just ask Otto - he seems to be a big fan!

oh it sounds really good - if I start saving now by the time Pearl stops "adjusting" I might have enough to buy one!! (That gives me roughly 3 years until she's 6 - that's about £35 a month - they might have come down in price by then too!!! lol

They sound wonderful- but so expensive. I know they are probably well worth it but as I spent 1500 euros on a saddle last year, I think I will have to wait a long long time for a new one. Its not even that great either! Anyway another thing to add to my wish list for when I win the lottery!

Becca - depending on what your treeless looks like (its a freeform isn't it?) then I think you can compete in them...maybe not in torsions though, but if it looks traditional then they'd never know would they?!?!?!

Torsions are BD and BE legal. Not sure if it's only the dressage models though.
BTW Spotti who's that in your avatar? It's not one of 911 is it?

considering the price of new stubbens or jefferies saddles they are not that more expensive - hence I'm getting one for Pearl next year when we're doing more work!! Can't wait!!

well... I'll just copy what I wrote in the post about his twitchiness... He's off to the vet tomorrow - couldn't get near him today (with WOW saddle as well ) Phoned vet and they said he'd ring me back, so phoned chiro who said maybe wither xrays would be a good idea. She also said that some really dep stretches under sedation could possibly help but she'd need a vets referral for it. Waited hours for vet to ring back and literally couldn't get near horse so drove over to the vet and demanded to talk to him! He agreed that xrays may be a good idea, but since he is not stiff or lame and has a full range of movement and is fine in himself he was generally baffled and wants him to go to the hospital so they can do whatever they need to tomorrow and not have to split it into 2 or 3 visits/trips. saddle fitter seemed to think it may be a skin allergy as its as if his skin is hypersensitive and it comes and goes throughout the day - sometimes he's fine and then he's a monster! So who knows?? we'll find out tomorrow. No wow saddle though as didn't get to put it on him (obviously as he was terrible today) She's coming back when he's better. basically he is super sensitive on his skin and twitches like mad! It comes and goes and has been ok until today (typical). Been like it for about a month but its not been really bad and as he's a ticklish horse I've just got on with things as it seemed to be going away. Saddle was beautiful though! They took it away to replace some of the piping as I noticed a mark on the leather so they are goign to redo it for me. Also there are flap issues! I need shortened flaps as my legs are short but with the jump flap I've chosen it looks plain wierd and very small and stumpy on my big horse! So we are goign to try a selection of different flaps in different lengths to see if any of those will be better and then I can have them remade. Didn't know they'd look like that until they were made for me as they were completely custom, the flaps I tried at the first fitting were standard length, more forward tilted and with the claf block - I wanted the calf block removed and the flap angled back (so I can tilt it back to a completely straight dressage flap for tests and then forward again for jumping) and it just ended up looking odd. So even if the por neddy had been ok she'd have ended u taking the saddle back for my flaps to be redone! Hopefully we can work out whats wrong with him tomorrow so he can be treated and my saddle can be finished! seriously unset though as poorly neddy and no wow saddle
