Housebound at the moment (due to operation) but my daughter tells me that our livery yard has sucumb to some flooding! Poor Chief can't go out at mo as half his field is waterlogged and outdoor school a def no go zone - I hate this British weather

Thankfully we're lucky here. I live on a hill so never flood. And our soils really sandy so it gets wet but dries out really quickly.

We're quite lucky and don't really suffer with flooding, although at my old yard the fileds did sometimes get waterlogged and had to be closed. I hope chief gets some turnout soon. We're certainly getting more than our fair share of rain.

if we were flooded it would be bad since we are so high but thankfully we have had no rain so we are fine!

athere was going to be a show at the farm next door to our yard today but the field is now a lake and I think the only competition would be "bog snorkelling" - Fed up of wind and rain Zx

The rain runs off the back hill where we are, and last time my stable were under water OH has done all the drains, created waterways etc, and so far its just the outdoor school that has ducks in it. ;D

our field was flooded yesterday and today. there was little patches of green but you have to wade through the water to get to them. let horses out yesterday and they all decided to go in the water and all galloped through the water and were having a whale of a time til we decided enough is enough and brought them in. spoil sports we are! Dazzle (the one who wont even entertain water out on a hack) was splashing out up to his belly in the water!

I am in north east Wales, we have had so much rain, although today has been drier. My field is wet in places, but it is on a slope so it does run off a bit, I have a couple of springs that run through from the mountain behind and these make it wetter too, I managed to dry one part up by digging a small trench for one of the springs and directing it through an old culvet, it has made a handy drinking trough for Debbie.

What a dreadful scare that must have been! So glad she's okay, she looked so sweet. Poor little dog didn't make it, though. Sad, but it makes you shudder to think that could have been her.
