We have a few Piglets who's days are numbered OH will have them turned into bacon and chops, unless I can get them into a nice friendly home Does anyone have any ideas about, where I could advertise, or nice people who might like to save a Pig's bacon? (Thank heavens I'm not a farmer's wife, I'd be useless)

He's just got a call from a local pig farmer who wants them all, but they'll be food anyway. Now, he's trying to convince me, that they're worth their weight in hay. There is one little fellow, who I 've got a soft spot for. I had to bottle feed him for a bit, and he's got a flopy ear (poor little guy) I would like very much to see him go somewhere nice, does anyone know of any rescue centres that would help, that one?

where did those pigs that did a bid for freedom end up. some rescue place took them- cant remember the name but it will come to me and Ill post it!
I do like pigs- think they are funny when you scratch their tummys and they lie down for you! But I like bacon too! Dont buy it from EEC though! Some of our animal food chain practices are dispicable, some of the practices on the continent are far worse!

Try an Ad in the adtrader paper, in the livestock section "not for the pot". Kune Kunes the little ones are making quite popular pets. My Mum hand reared a little piggy (she named it wilba after charlottes web) When my dad was pig farming. She found it an excellent pet home before she had to go back home.

It didnt work out at all well for them and they were quickly moved on. things havnt got much better at the new place and we expecting them back by Wednesday of next week. The good news is that as the fist new home was the slaughter house and the second was the butcher we are rather looking forward to getting them back. Roll on next Saturdays fry up!

I eat bacon and I can joke about it but would cry loads if I actually condemned a pig. Same with lobsters- couldnt actually pick one from a tank to boil! (yes I know Im a hypocrite!)
