The last few times I've ridden Zoon he's been going along with is head in the air and really resisting any pressure on the reins. Like he's tensing his jaw or something.
His teeth are absolutely fine so I know its not that.
He is ridden in a straight bar happy mouth looose ring which he was going really well in.
I've been doing all the normal things - circles, serpentines, figures of 8, flexing neck round to each side, trying to get him long and low by riding like a monkey (since that seems to be the recent topic of discussion!), lots of transitions, reinback and lateral work to get his back end under him, NOTHING WORKS WITH HIM!!! AAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!
As you can tell I'm getting v frustrated - what can I do???

Sounds as though there may be something happening that is causing him to tense his jaw so a thorough check up is needed- back/mouth/tongue (I know you said teeth are fine but still check mouth/tongue for sores) hocks, saddle, tack fitting, feet! Rule out any external problem first. When youve ruled absolutely everything out then just hack him out for a bit- you both sound really stressed- from your other posts re selling him etc you may simply both be stressing out and need a complete rest from trying things- lots of happy hacks on a long loose rein. post again if you need some more help after youve ruled out an external problem.

lol hacking is a no no as he will not hack alone and there is no one to hack with really unless I skive off work!

My pony usd to throw his bit to some teeth further back then clench down really hard, and tense his neck, but with his new bit he hasn't done it. could be his back though, good idea to get everything checked

I'd also check the fit of his bridle too to make sure it's not pinching anywhere but like everyone else has said check everything to rule it all out.

Well had chiro out and his backs a bit sore, so she's comign back in 2 weeks to see how he's going
got wow saddle fitter on wednesday (just needed an excuse for this one, his other saddle is fine!)
dentist in a few weeks (not due for ages but want to be sure!)
Also noticed that his bridle is a bit too close to his ears for my liking on the headpiece - seen jeffries bridle that has shaped headpiece to curve away from back of ears (like my zig zag girth) but only comes with a flash - anyone know of similar bridle minus the flash? He has a big padded headpiece at the mo (eleator bridle), its not tight or anything but he has sensitive ears!

my silly v key doesn't work properly and you have to whack it to make a v come out - so apologies for missing v's in my post!
