Hi Brig Just wondering if you could give me a wee web-site address for the Centre in Yorkshire you mentioned about the 24/7 intensive training. Thanks.

HI yes- thats the one- really high standard and provide accomodation etc. they do all the disciplines and would be able to tailor make you something! Have alook around though ideally you want one within a reasonable distance from an airport where you can get a local flight- I think Leeds and Bradford Airport is probably the nearest to that one- about a 45 min taxi ride which may be expensive but The centre may be able to suggest some transport afterall they all want business!

My friends been there quite a few times and loved every minute of it. Im wanting to take my pony up there for a few lessons (intensive of course, im probably 3 or 4 hours away at the moment!) but i have serious trust issues with new instructors...

They are really good- and the horses really help as they are well schooled. Ive done most of my stages there and competed. Also for lessons they are great I went up for an assessment as I was hitting a bit of a flat stage and the lesson went great, gave me some new stuff to work on which was really helpful and constructive. Bit pricey but worth several average lessons! And I only turned up for the one lesson so they didnt really have to try so hard as they would have still had my money. brig

Lovely horses, I well recommend the YRC. I am a nervous jumper but their horses are so well schooled that they will always jump the fence if you present them correctly - I really gained confidence there. Its not cheap, but if you can save up it is well worth it. Their horses are forward going and responsive, not your average riding school bored plod by any means. I rode their dressage schoolmaster and he showed up all my faults as he was responding to the aids I wasn't aware I was giving. mortifying at the time - but it does give you something to work on!
I saw a demo there by Chris Bartle - it was amazing. He rode two owners horses, and visibly improved them in just 15-20mins, then did a demo on his own horse, absolutely jaw droppingly good. I love the way he rides, he doesn't look to be doing much but my god he is effective.
