As many of you know I have recently had to move yards and I've been froced to face my hacking fears . The initial week or so was terrifying but with the help of my friend Sarah I'm slowly improving ;D. This morning I ventured out with another girl on the yard with her ex-racer; I was c******g my pants when I got there but got on and went for it. We didn't go too far but a bit of road work and some off and we met a tractor and some loose sheep (v scary). AJ was a star and didn't put a foot wrong, I'm so pleased with him and me and I can't belive our progress. Added a pic of him in his new house Zx

That is wonderful- You'll find each time gets a little easier and more enjoyable. Although I know fears can have a nasty way of coming back from time to time. After my accident last year I became very nervous but luckily got over the riding and hacking nerves fairly soon. Unfortunately I'm still a mess about jumping and eventually gave up doing it for a bit. Its something I will have to tackle soon. I used to love jumping so much too. Fear is a strange thing isn't it? I hope you will continue to let us know the progress with your beautiful horse

Aww Zara. he looks gorgeous, so glad you had a good hack, the more times you get a positive outcome on your hacks, the less stressful they will become, eventually you will see enjoyable hacking as the norm.

hacking is terrifying, i cant agree more! the sound of a tractor sets an image of bolting down the road with no control, but keep at it! what we find great is physically relaxing your bum. tense it then force yourself to relax, AJ will feel this and as if by magic they normally seem 100% calmer!! its crazy but try it, it works wonders.
yay for zara!! x
