Warrior & I have our first TREC training weekend starting tomorrow. First day is orienteering. They're giving us grid references to plot & then find our own way there. Thankfully the organiser has arranged for me to ride with a more experienced treccie as I'm new to it all & my map reading is rusty to say the least.
The Sunday is training over the PTV course. Hopefully we'll manage to do most of the obstacles without trashing anything!
Fingers crossed for a couple of dry days.

Sounds like huge fun, Warrior! Lucky you to have training weekends in the UK. Grid refs, eh? There's posh! They make me come out in a nervous sweat ....

Well we're still alive & didn't get hopelessly lost on the Saturday even though we had to alter our route due to road closures. Plottting the grid refs took me back to the days of being a brownie - across the corridor & up the stairs They were 8 fig references so were really accurate & we got most of our telegraph pole numbers the same as the organiser. But I think that was mostly to do with the person who I rode with Warrior was full of it as usual & didn't look as though he'd been out for over 3 hours and returned the next day fresh & bursting with energy unlike me. Did some obstacles on the PTV course. Low branches were much easier than I thought probably cos I'm used to hanging off my horse as the Welsh bridleways are not the best for pruning the trees!!. The staircase was interesting. Took him a couple of goes to know where to put his big feet. Going up he tried to do the whole lot in one go just so he could get to the others quickly. The s-bend took a hammering as did the rein back corridor. Need to work on keeping his brain in the right place. Footbridge & ditch were no problem but the gate was a disaster due to his lack of patience! Really pleased with his COP. He would have scored full points for both paces & managed to walk the 150m in 64 secs This morning I turned him out in the field & he's still buzzing! I'm pooped & need to find some energy as I'm showing him this afternoon!!

Brilliant you! Sounds as though Warrior is going to be a Trec star if he was that good on a first outing! Fantastic COP results too!
