AJ choked tonite and terrified the living daylights out of me! I was a gibbering, hysterical wreck and rang vet in a blind panic, he came to the yard 5 mins after AJ managed to dislodge the offending object (?carrot) and he was calmly stuffing his face! One large bill later, a late night drive back to yard to make sure he hasn't had a relapse and I'm knackered! Zx ps be very careful about flushing with water as horse could aspirate

Rach glad AJ is ok. Choke isn`t like it is is humans but does need veterinary attention. One of the classic signs is a ripple down the horses neck at it tries to squeeze the blockage down. One of my horses had choke and was scoped and flushed and out came his tea totally un chewed. The biggest threat then is infection so antibiotics should be used to counter this. Apart from a sore throat the horse was fine but my nerves were alittle shot.
