I'm over the moon today ;D I bought my little arab just over 2 years ago as a hack. Long story but despite big injury problems he's proved to be a very talented horse. We do the odd bit of show jumping but have never jumped against the clock. Last night he jumped a clear round at the second attempt. It took us all last season to achieve that! So feeling confident we entered our first proper class. Same course as the clear round + 3, and timed. He was a star I discovered that I can hurtle between jumps and still get control back before a fence, and can cut corners and still jump. We had one refusal (jump not in clear round and first part of a double) and a knock down (another one not in cr) at the last. Even so we had the 3rd fastest time of 9 which is amazing considering we had a stop. I am still grinning. That's one huge leap forward (sorry about the pun) for both of us. Nothing beats that feeling of having done something really well together does it?

What a great achievement - you probably have worked really hard to get this far. Lucky you having such a little superstar!! Any pics of the momentous occasion?

Not this time but here's a couple taken at the same venue last year, doing the clear round. Who says arabs can't jump ;D Ok they're only tiny but I've a feeling there's a lot more left in the tank. Fingers crossed Just noticed my cheesy grin. Normally I never smile when competing as I'm concentrating so hard. I must have really been enjoying it

I agree the one arabe i rode sprung in the air! It was like she was saying "my feet MUST not touch the pole"! Okay she did then zoom off when she landed and I had to drive her into the fence to stop but for a 19 yr old she was amazing!!
I love your boy he's lurrvvly!!!! Well done!

Thanks for all the lovely comments. It was a good day but unfortunately things have taken a turn for the worst. I said it was a long story and part of it is that he was treated for suspensory ligament damage last year and has just come back in to proper work but I felt he wasn't quite right again. My suspicions have been confirmed and he's got to have further treatment for the same problem and its back to boring walking only for god knows how long.
He is gorgeous and I'd be tempted to enter the photo show, but...........................where's the arab class?!!!!

Because we've been through this before I'm determined to take it slow and get it right. I thought I did last time and the vet says its nothing I've done to cause him to go down again. Unfortunately nobody has told Bobs to take it easy and he has a tendency to belt about the field sometimes, probably undoing all the good of the previous week or so. Soooo frustrating but yes, he is worth the wait. Anybody want to see more pics?

Wowee i love him! What a looker. My boys Arab cross and loves to jump, in his mind the bigger the better. I'm sure he's jump a 3ft course if I wasn't cowardly and he hated most fillers How big is he? Hope he's feelin better real soon
