My OH is a star, he thinks his horsemanship skills are up there with the best! Anywhoooo, as my back is buggered I need a little help putting horses in and out of fields etc. Tonight he took the cobby one and I took the unreliable but, should be OK TB. Sparky decides it's much more fun to be a pain and dance about at the end of the lead rope. So, I back him up to remind him about space and respect, he then decides his best course of action is to rear over my head (typical Sparky behaviour, ignore him and he'll settle) OH has a heart attack over my back being wrenched and decides to take Sparks, despite my pleads of no "I'm fine thanx." Then he leads him through the paddocks declaring that all Sparks needs is some discipline and he's a mans horse etc Followed by him trying to make him stand still (very bad idea ) and then, because horse won't stand still giving him a smack on his shoulder. Even wose, and down right stupid idea, when you have 1/2 a tonnes worth of very fresh and not overly smart TB: Sparks cat leapt into the air, wrenched the lead rope out of his hands and buggered off into the sunset ;DFollowed by the Shetland, who burst through his paddock in hot pursuit of the fun and frolics. I then stood there for half an hour watching him trying to catch 16.2hh worth of very pleased with himself TB and pretty damn quick Ginger one!! ;D ;D ;D Pride comes before a fall, and don't smack my neddies!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

You'd think he'd have learnt by now. The last time we were out, my mare moved back towards him (she is a little fidgety ) He slapped her butt, so she duly threw a leg at him.

Yep!!!!!!!!! His "mummy" breeds point to pointers, he used to jump BSJA, but he couldn't even put on a bridle? I have to add that he is as soft as poo, he gets all beside himself if anything has a cold. He is a mean and nasty man, and he is fully loaded.................with a packet of polo's ;D

Or, at least by someone I really trust, and then I'd still check.

Hehe! Ooh slinky, I hope you made him a nice cuppa when you got in! I always like to tack up my own horse and always used to check it if I had to ride another - even at the riding school!

I gave him sticky toffee pudding and custard, so he's a very happy man ;D He's snoring on my sofa now, so I'm going to poke him until he guffaws, chokes, coughs and farts (because men, are that lovely : and then tuck him up into bed, because he tries so hard to be helpful. *pokes OH and giggles again*

Awww bless him...atleast he tries! Some people wouldn't even bother helping out so I'd be grateful (although I would have had to say "I told you so" about smacking horses because they will only smack you back, and a hell of a ot harder!)
Hope he caught the ginger one eventually and that he's learnt his lesson now!!!
Re tack: Me too! I hate other people tacking up for me. It always feels wrong if I ride when someone else did it. The saddle always feels odd, or the bridle is just not right...guess I'm just picky but it's nice to know I'm not the only one!
