what are they ect found that jack has one though he doesnt have shoes he goes bare foot has fo 2 years

Well he could have uneven pressure on the foot because it is been trimmed in a certain way or because he is weight baring unevenly? ? What did your farrier suggest??

Jack they are like a deep seated bruise causing a hardening of the sole of the foot- usually found near the corners, the horse can find them really painful and they need trimming/treating by the farrier as usually- as Duckles says - they are caused by unbalance, incorrect shoeing etc- anything that caused persistant pressure to the sole and underlying structures.

he asked if jack had been lame which he hasnt he cut it out and told us to carry on as normal could it be because it has been so dry and the ground being hard

Have found some strange things happening with my horses feet lately- he has not been lame but Ive found a couple of tracks of gravel etc that have healed- wondering if its this bloomin weather causing different growth rates- softness etc
