sorry if I am being stupid, but why does he need brushing boots and coolers etc if he cant be ridden and is only a companion? I dont mean that in an accusing way, please dont take it wrong way, just wondering...(this is coming from someone who doesnt even put travel boots on unless its a pretty long way!)

i grown up with tbs - mums always had them - we have never had that problem and have never treated our tbs different from other horses...maybe Ben is prone to banging himself? but he didnt have them on in the advert pictures I dont think? anyway, like i say, I dont mean anything by it, I know plenty of people do keep their horses protected all the time, and glad he is going somewhere where he will be pampered! All i am saying is dont have sleepless nights (or bankrupt yourself!) DM if you cant get all that stuff in time I am sure he will be fine!
when is he arriving?

yeah each horse is different. We have had a tb who was happier virtually rugless except on really nasty days - she always came in at night in the winter mind but never wore a stable rug unless it was under 3 degrees - she just chewed them off, but then Ben, our big TB was a right woos and waited at the gate to 'come in please mummy' at the first sight of rain!!
Harry HATES wearing anything so it has to be really essential! Willow quite likes being pampered (but doesnt need to be)!!

I dont mean that in an accusing way, please dont take it wrong way, just wondering...(this is coming from someone who doesnt even put travel boots on unless its a pretty long way!) he will need brushing boots for when he is turned out. Coolers for when he has had a bath or when the nights are a little cooler at the end of the summer. Or when he is sweaty even though he cannot be ridden he can still be worked from the ground which is what will happen. Ben is a little more than a companion he will have a purpose, something to think about and to break his day up from all the noshing

So yeap as you say, they (Ben, Daniel and Patrick) will be walking around in bubble wrap if I could do it ;D
