Does anyone know if there is anywhere in South Devon where you can compete in Le Trec? Seems like a nice alternative to the usual sj and xc!!

If you check out the BHS website they have dates for all kinds of Trec events (training days, PTVs etc, not just the full monty) and if you phone they are very helpful. They are very keen to promote Trec. And you could try googling it - there are quite a few groups/RCs organising stuff. Good luck - I think Trec is the greatest thing ever!

Oooh, I envy you Trojan! All our competitions have stopped for the summer as it's too hot and the next event I have to look forward to isn't until the end of September!

I've got a little wait until I'm able to do it with Pearl but I'm thinking of borrowing a horse for a day to have a go! Will keep you posted!

I've got a little wait until I'm able to do it with Pearl but I'm thinking of borrowing a horse for a day to have a go! Will keep you posted! Please do! I think I am evangelical about Trec so I'm always fascinated by other people's experiences, particularly in the UK. Here in France it is very well established but is going through a bit of upheaval at the moment as the 'original' long-distance riders (it was invented as a way of testing trek guides - I am one) fight it out with the clubs. They don't like the fact that club horses tend to do very well!!!!! As I also ride with a club my loyalties are firmly with it and I am thrilled when our 'nags' do well!!!!!
